Introducing Blockhash

Introducing Blockhash.

a boutique studio for onchain things, vibe-coded since 2025. yours by default, weird by design.

what is Blockhash

Blockhash is a boutique studio building software for an onchain world. a handful of things in various stages of cooking, plus a folder full of half-built ideas behind those. no seed round. no roadmap. mostly things i wanted to exist that didn't yet, plus a few things that other people wanted to exist and asked us to build with them.

the studio formally started in 2025, but the work under it has been shipping since 2024.

who's behind it

i'm Michael Hirsch. i've been writing software for over a decade, and most of that time i've spent co-founding things. the headlines: Facet, a DEX i built with Tom Lehman (co-founder of Genius) that did $400M+ in volume; Ethscriptions, an inscription primitive on Ethereum; Carve, an NFT launchpad; and Kickstart Crew, a startup studio i grew to a team of ten. somewhere in the middle of all that i also built Taskful, a productivity app that hit #1 in the App Store. Blockhash is the current chapter.

there's a longer bio if you want the full story.

why a studio, not a company

a "studio" is a smaller, weirder thing than a startup. studios ship things because the things should exist, not because there's a forecast attached. studios can take a year off and come back with something stranger than they left with. studios don't have a series A.

Blockhash is set up that way on purpose. the goal is to make software that lives on real chains, that you actually own when you use it, and that doesn't need anyone's permission to exist. companies are bad at that. studios are pretty good at it.

how it works: vibe-coding

every project under Blockhash is vibe-coded. that's not a slogan, it's the actual operating mode. things get built when they should be built, in whatever order makes sense, with AI as a force multiplier on top of everything i've shipped before. change your mind without writing an RFC. push something at 3am because the idea woke you up. when something doesn't work, rip it out and try the next thing.

we take proposals

a meaningful slice of what Blockhash actually ships starts with someone reaching out with a concept that needs the chain part built. if it's the right kind of weird and the bandwidth is there, we figure out the scope together and build it. the IP stays with whoever brought the idea. we ship it.

if you have something onchain you want built (smart contract development, an application that talks to smart contracts, anything in the same neighborhood), say hi at [email protected]. there's a longer post on how the proposal model actually works.

what Blockhash isn't

  • not a vc-backed startup
  • not a dao
  • not a chain
  • not a launchpad
  • not interested in a roadmap

where to find the rest of it

the studio lives at blockhash.xyz (and also at blockha.sh because that domain was too good to pass up). source code is on github. the occasional thought gets posted on x. more weird things are on the way, and if you have one of your own, holler.
